| Central to Services to Students with Disabilities' (SSD) operations is the Academic Support Services unit. Each student receives support services based upon his/her disability. Individual assessments determine the type and frequency of services. Professional staff and student assistants are available to accommodate the students needs. |
| Students with Learning Disabilities A full range of compensatory services is offered the student with a learning disability. |

| Students who are Deaf or Hearing Impaired A team of qualified Sign Language interpreters provide students who are deaf or hearing impaired with support services. |
|
| Students who are Blind or Visually Impaired There are a full range of services available to aid students who are blind or visually impaired that assure reasonable accommodation at the university. | |
| Students who are Mobility Impaired Students who use wheelchairs or have orthopedic limitations may be eligible for a variety of services. | |
| Students with Psychiatric Disabilities Students attending the university who have a diagnosed psychiatric condition may be eligible for support services or accommodations. Students requesting services must provide the office with current documentation of the diagnosed condition from a medical or mental health professional. These records will be kept confidential. An Authorization to Release General Information form (43K) is available for download in Adobe Acrobat format.

| Special Services - WorkAbility IV (WAIV) Career preparation and job placement services for students with disabilities who are also clients of the California Department of Rehabilitation (DOR), are offered through WAIV. This is a project funded by the federal government and jointly sponsored by the university and DR. |

| Temporary Disabilities Services are offered to persons who are experiencing a temporary disability as a result of an illness, injury, accident or surgery. |
|
| Housing On campus housing is available with priority given to disabled students in all accessible ground floor units of the residence halls. Further information can be obtained from SSD or the Housing Office. |
|
| Disability Access California State University, San Bernardino facilitates access to students with disabilities throughout the campus with designated parking, handicap ramps and automated opening doors. |
